Herbal Medicine

Watermelon, dates, licorice, ginger, cinnamon. What do these all have in common? They’re Chinese herbs that have Medicinal Value.

During a Chinese Herbal Medicine Consultation the practitioner will ask the patient questions relating to the entire body, not only the current ailment. A formula will then be prescribed for the patient to take for a certain amount of time.

Chinese Herbal Medicine is tailored to the individual, with formulas being specified based on what the patient is experiencing. Chinese Herbal Medicine is not meant to be a forever thing. A formula is given to treat the root cause of an illness and branch/symptom of an issue.

Since herbs are food, side effects of an herbal formula are unlikely. After a period of taking an herbal formula, it is likely that the formula will need to be adjusted or changed in order to continue to make it effective.

Chinese Herbal Medicine dates back to the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD) to a man named Zhang Zhong Jing who wrote one of the oldest books in the history of medicine. It has withstood the test of time and can stand alone as a viable method of healing.

Chinese Herbal Medicine used in conjunction with Acupuncture can speed up the healing process. Acupuncture and herbal medicine can be used at the same time to treat different issues and address multiple symptoms.
